PROJECT
Daikin supplied chillers within a refurbishing project involving a Spanish hospital. The project has been carried out in the context of a program, aiming at improving the energy efficiency of the building and minimizing its environmental impact. For this project, Daikin provided 3 screw inverter chillers, two water-cooled chillers and one air-cooled chiller. They will replace old non-inverter units in the HVAC system of the Spanish hospital.

CHALLENGE & SOLUTIONS
Thanks to the installation of more advanced technology, Daikin managed to meet the efficiency targets, helping achieve energy savings, reducing operating costs, and cutting CO2 emissions by 25%.
To achieve these goals, the project required an environmentally friendly HVAC concept. That is why it was decided to use chillers featuring the HFO refrigerant R-1234ze. Besides energy efficiency, reliability was another very important aspect as chillers are supposed to provide cooling also for laboratories and technical equipment. So, having a reliable solution was fundamental to ensure that both the comfort and the process cooling needs of the hospital were met. The screw inverter technology by Daikin helped with reliability.
